Laraine is founder of LMC17, a strategic consulting firm that blends behavioral science, big data, and practical implementation ideas to address hard-to-solve problems. The firm currently focuses on diversity & inclusion, talent development, and workplace benefits.

Laraine also serves as Advisor, and Talent & Culture Strategist for Emtrain, a CultureTech firm providing online training and culture analytics for the prevention of discrimination, sexual harassment, unconscious bias, and ethical lapses. Laraine works with a range of organizations such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Buzzfeed, Genentech, Nuro, PeaceHealth, US Soccer, and Workday to help employees build the skills and employers implement the tools to proactively create a healthier workplace culture. 

Laraine is co-author of research papers Social Capital and Social Indicators: Building Organizational Health in the Modern Economy (2021) and A Data-Driven Approach to Winning the War for Talent During the Great Resignation: Ending Silos Between DEI, Culture and Anti-Sexual Harassment Initiatives (2022) as well as Emtrain’s 2020 & 2021 Workplace Culture Reports on Respect and Inclusion. She speaks, writes, broadcasts, blogs, and facilitates sessions on inclusion and workplace culture.

Previously, Laraine was a Managing Director at BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, serving as retirement readiness strategist, client relationship officer, and director of global sales. She is the author of “Known: How to Create a Great 401(k),” and is an Advisor to Betterment, a leading robo-advisor firm. She serves on the Diversity & Inclusion steering committee of DCIIA.

In a volunteer capacity, Laraine is President of The CLUB Silicon Valley, a women’s leadership non-profit, and runs their Incubator Program where she has helped accelerate the careers of over 80 diverse women from companies such as Apple, Blue Origin, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, NASA, PayPal, PwC, Salesforce, Tesla, and Uber. Her Career Boost Workbook is now available on Amazon.

Laraine was honored at the Silicon Valley Business Times “Women of Influence” awards in 2018. She holds a BA degree, cum laude, in political science and women's studies from Wellesley College, and a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion for HR from Cornell University.
